Additional 3 Lidl Stores
The past month has seen Alliance awarded an additional three new Lidl store projects to be completed into Autumn/Winter at Edenbridge in Kent, Harrow and Staines. The project for St. Anns Shopping Centre, Harrow will require smoke ventilation and all three will have a complete MEP building services design & build installation.
6 New Lidl Stores
Over the past two months Alliance has secured a further 6 projects for new Lidl stores to be completed mainly over the Spring & Summer quarters: Gosforth-Newcastle, Fulwell-Tickenham, North Greenford, Andover, Portsmouth, and Gravesend. All require full MEP building services and will be delivered by Alliance’s highly experienced contracts, install and procurement teams.
34 Commercial Units
Work starts today installing building services to 34 units for a developer’s site at Minster Industrial Estate, Witney installing plumbing, ventilation and electrical light and power. The new units will provide a mix of light industrial, warehouse and offices space varying from 95m2 to 208m2 available singularly or combined.
Two New Lidl Projects
Alliance has been awarded two further Lidl projects. Winton in Bournemouth is a modernisation with completely new M&E services installation. Stratford-on-Avon is fit-out to a former retail unit. Both will require rapid mobilisation and procurement of continentally sourced equipment to avoid possible Brexit delays.
Daisy Appeal Castle Hill Hull
Alliance is pleased to receive the £1.4 million order for mechanical and electrical building services to the new Molecular Imaging Research Centre building at Castle Hill Hospital, Hull. This project in partnership between the Daisy Appeal, the University of Hull and the local NHS will house GE Healthcare’s GENtrace 600 cyclotron.
Three New Lidl Projects
Three additional Lidl projects have been secured over the past few months. Belvedere (Bexley) is a fit-out to the ground floor of block of flats. Hersham is fit-out to a developer shell, and Uxbridge is fitting-out a former BHS store in the heart of the INTU shopping centre including smoke ventilation.
Office Fit-out Reading
Alliance has been approached to undertake the Cat B fit-out to the previous Category A fit-out of an industrial unit the company completed back in February at Sutton Business Park, Reading.
MHI Platinum Partner Status
Alliance has been awarded ‘Platinum Partner’, following on from earlier ‘Gold Partner’ status for its Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) turnover with Beijer Ref UK wholesaler HRP. Alliance is proud to have achieved this and grateful for HRP’s customer service and support along the way.
The Gym Bexleyheath
Alliance has been awarded the MEP packages for The Gym Group’s new premises within the Broadway Shopping Centre. With over 900m2 of usable gym space, the project will also require a sprinkler system, a Public Address & Voice Alarm (PAVA) system, and fire alarm linked to the centre infrastructure.
Four New Lidl Projects
The past few months have seen Alliance secure a further four Lidl projects. Loughborough in Leicestershire and Wallingford Oxfordshire are new-build projects whilst Walthamstow (East London) and Thornton Heath (South London) are modernisation projects with a completely new M&E installation with Priva BMS and Modbus networks.
Training for Team Leaders
Six of Alliance’s Mechanical & Electrical Team Leaders have passed / renewed their SSSTS (Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme) and First Aid at Work qualifications during May. Alliance is committed to training staff as an investment in achieving company goals for working efficiently and safely.
More Lidl stores awarded
Recent months have seen Alliance secure a further three Lidl store projects for its mechanical & electrical teams. These stores are to the latest 2017 specification following on from the first of this new type. The stores are located at Morriston-Swansea, Bingley, and Barton-upon-Humber.
A new tranche of Lidl projects secured
Alliance is pleased to have been awarded another tranche of Lidl projects running into Spring 2018 and following on neatly from current stores. The three new projects are Barking, Wymondham in Norfolk, and a joint Wicks & Lidl retail development in Wigston Leicester.
Sutton Business Park
Start on site 11/12/2017
Alliance has started work on a new-build Industrial unit at Sutton Business Park, Reading, a development for Standard Life Investments. The project includes VRF air conditioning, heat recovery ventilation, gas, domestics and BMS, together with smart meters and energy optimization.
Lidl Garforth, Leeds Secured
Alliance is proud to be awarded another Lidl store for its Mechanical & Electrical services. This store will start in late October for Alliance with practical completion expected January 2018. It’s an opportunity to work with main contractor Caddick who is also joint developer of the East Side Retail Park for which Lidl is the lead tenant and to be joined by Home Bargains and a Marstons pub.
Two More Decathlons
Alliance have won a further pair of Decathlon stores. The High Wycombe store in the Eden Shopping centre is a complete strip and refit over two floors plus welfare areas. The Staples Corner, North London store is a more modest conversion from a former Hobbycraft. Both stores will dovetail with October handovers at Uxbridge and Brighton and be completed by early November.

Two Further Decathlons
Alliance are pleased to be awarded two further projects for Decathlon. The company will provide a HVAC design & build for the Brighton North St store opening in October. At the Uxbridge Shopping Centre store, Alliance will be utilizing its expertise to provide a dedicated smoke ventilation system.
Two New Lidl Stores
A further two new-build Lidl stores have been awarded to Alliance for M & E services. The Hornchurch store is to the latest specification on the site of the old Towers Cinema. Harold Hill, Essex on the site of the old Police station is of the Metropolitan specification with undercroft car park. Design is underway on both projects for November 17 and February 2018 handovers.
Lunchtime on the first day of the job at the Grafton shopping centre sees everyone inducted, all the equipment & materials delivered, a contract lift safely completed for the air con outdoor units and all holes marked. The contract lift utilized ISG’s on-site crane in return for a donation to local homeless charity Jimmy’s.
New Gym concept
Alliance is pleased to be creating the mechanical & electrical specification for an exciting new gym chain concept. With years of experience in M&E design, as well as installation, Alliance is able to provide realistically costed proposal to support the budget. Sanitaryware, fixtures and fittings will have a striking modern theme to compliment the concept. More details to come.
Lidl Bakery Extension
Another bakery extension M&E packages for Lidl has recently been secured in Poole. This programmed in for Feb-March includes plumbing, ventilation, lighting and small power along with a new mains panel in the existing plant room, and requires some out-of-hours works to avoid disruption to trading.
Committed to Training
Alliance staff are undergoing new and renewal training with a local provider, including: Site Manager’s Site Safety Training (SMSTS), First Aid, Manual Handling, Asbestos Awareness, PASMA, IPAF and others with courses running from February to June.
Lidl's go NFK
Two of Alliance’s Lidl new store roll-out (Grimsby & Gainsborough) have had variations approved to the very latest and most energy efficient NFK (December 2016) specification including entrance cooling capability, single recirculating AHU, heat recovery ventilation to offices and replacing the DX cassettes with 2-pipe fan coils plus other changes
