We are committed to ensuring safe and healthy working conditions for all our employees and have policies and practices in place with the aim of achieving an accident free workplace.
To further manage any risk, we have several competent first aiders on site to deal with any situations should they arise.
When we were looking for a first aid training provider to meet our needs, we wanted to ensure our staff would not only learn the theory but also be assessed for competence when needing to use the skills in a practical situation. We approached MRS Training & Rescue in Mansfield who are a leading First Aid training and assessment provider. The company offers a range of First Aid courses that comply with the First Aid Regulations Act 1981, designed to include both theoretical and practical sessions. They are approved by the MPQC Awarding Organisation, who is in turn approved by Ofqual. Their courses provide delegates with the skills, knowledge and confidence to use what they have been taught and assessed against in a real emergency, and ensure all recommendations outlined by the HSE are also met.
All our first aiders are trained in MRS’ emergency first aid at work training course and have the skills, knowledge and understanding to provide appropriate care and manage life threatening conditions, minor illness and injuries. This includes how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) – as 250 people suffer a cardiac arrest daily. Early CPR and the use of a defibrillator can drastically improve a person’s survival chances.
We hope they’ll never need to put their skills to use, but it’s reassuring to know they’ve been trained by a leading first aid training organisation and have gained the skills to deliver emergency first aid if required.
